SPRING SURPRISE AT SPROWSTON MANOR
SUN 2ND JUNE TO WEDS 5TH JUNE 2019
Yes, my friends . It is now time to book for next years Spring Break. This will be the 16th Spring Break event we have organised and all have been full of fun, enjoyment and relaxation. This one will be no exception. It will be full of pleasant but stupendous surprises.
We will be staying at Sprowston Manor Hotel . Sprowston Manor is an impressive 4* hotel and country club on the outskirts of Norwich with an idyllic countryside location. The hotel is housed within a stately 16th-century English manor and features the perfect blend of historic elegance and contemporary comfort. Play a round of golf during your stay or just relax in the large swimming pool and extensive leisure facilities.
Arriving on the Sunday afternoon you will be welcomed with free tea,/ coffee and biscuits in the restful Cast Iron Bar overlooking the gardens . The evening will commence with a drinks reception followed by a 4-course meal and entertainment.
On the Monday we travel 13 miles to Aylsham station and board our own reserved carriages on the Bure Valley Steam Railway and enjoy a nine mile nostalgic steam hauled train trip through the picturesque Norfolk countryside. After arriving at Wroxham Station, a 15 minute walk [ taxi available] takes us to Wroxham Bridge where our own chartered boat will be waiting. Our 1 ½ hour cruise offers a fabulous opportunity to discover the Norfolk Broads. A full commentary from the skipper will ensure you don’t miss a thing Just sit back and relax and take in the beautiful scenery all around you. On our return to Wroxham we have then organised a buffet lunch at the Hotel Wroxham. The hotel is in a prominent position overlooking the water. We will have our own reserved area both inside and outside on the terrace. So please whileaway the time observing the activities on the water. We complete the day with a train trip back to Aylsham on our special exclusive train. What a fabulous relaxing way to spend a day.
On the Tuesday we travel 27miles through beautiful rural Norfolk and visit the Thursford Collection. This is a truly unique museum. A living heritage you will love. See the magnificent steam traction engines. The largest collection in the world. Climb on board traditional carousels and gondola and enjoy all the fun of the fairground. Be amazed at the original fairground sounds and delight in the unique sounds of the amazing mighty Wurlitzer organ. We will have free coffee and biscuits on arrival. An exclusive tour of the back stage to see the dressing rooms and costumes used in their Christmas Extravaganza and the engine yard where we will view a famous collection of steam engines belonging to the founder George T Cushing MBE. A totally unforgettable days experience.
Every evening will commence with a free drinks reception, free wine with the meal and an excellent four course meal. Entertainment on all three evenings will be of “west end “ professional standard. The exact nature of the entertainment has not been finalised until I have had the opportunity to view a number of acts in the November/ December Christmas period. Rest assured they will all be of the quality you have come to expect on previous Spring Breaks. I can promise that the Gala evening, starting with champagne and canapés, will be a night to remember. The steam collection at Thersford is showmanship at it’s best so we have decided that the fancy dress theme on the Gala evening will be “showmanship” with the emphasis on the “circus”. If you decide to come as a lion tamer, please, please, bring your whip but do not bring any live lions !!!
In summary you will be staying at a luxurious Country House hotel , driving your cars through the pleasant rural traffic free Norfolk countryside and enjoying relaxing visits in the daytime. Evenings will include excellent food and drinks, being entertained by professional West End quality entertainers and in the company of friendly likeminded members of the “ Best club in the world” You must realise these Spring Breaks are extremely good value for money and at a very attractive price. Better than any cruise ship holiday and definitely no risk of sea sickness.
